Joan Alice Pajerowski

nee McElhinney, 83 SMYRNA - Joan Alice Pajerowski, nee McElhinney passed away at her home on June 25, 2015. Mrs. Pajerowski was born on June 5, 1932 in Wilmington, Del., the daughter of the late John H. and Naomi W. Abbott-McElhinney. She retired as a Registered Nurse after working for several hospitals, including Wilmington General Hospital and the Division of Mental Retardation for the State of Delaware. Joan was a member of the DHCI Auxiliary and the Wilmington General Alumni association. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William P. Pajerowski, Jr.; two brothers; and five sisters. She is survived by her husband, William P. Pajerowski; her son, Robert R. Pajerowski and his wife Laura of Smyrna; three daughters, Cynthia A. Pajerowski of Smyrna, Patricia P. Byler and her husband William of Clayton, Del. and Theresa A. Argoe and her husband Timothy of Middletown, Del.; her sister, Dorothy M. Bardo and her husband Donald of Vero Beach, Fla.; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be privately held in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Del. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to The Sunday Breakfast Mission, 110 N. Poplar St., Wilmington, Del. 19801. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
