CLAYTON - Jimmie E. Estep Jr. of Clayton passed away peacefully Friday, July 6, 2007, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was 41.
Mr. Estep was born Aug. 2, 1965, in Wilmington, son of Jimmie E. Sr. and Barbara Moore Estep of Townsend.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Estep was a carpenter and was most recently employed by HJH General Contractors Inc. of Townsend.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman and a member of the Ocean Pro Bass Hunters, the Delaware Bass Federation and the Shore Pine Hunting Club. He had the biggest heart and freely shared it with others.
His compassionate nature, bright outlook and infectious laughter brought joy and light to the lives of those around him and made the world a better place for everyone that he touched. His generosity and kindhearted compassion were a welcome comfort to many.
Mr. Estep persevered through incredible illness and hardships with grace and humility, reminding all that life and love are gifts to be celebrated every day. He will be missed, but his love will endure.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angelica Estep.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jessica Hubert Estep; his parents; a sister, Dawne Estep of Newark; his paternal grandparents, Edmond and Mamie Estep of New Castle; his maternal grandparents, William and Betty Moore of Davenport, Fla.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred and Dolores Hubert of Ocean View; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in Freewill Baptist Church, DuPont Highway, Townsend.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the church.
Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Reel Expectations, Mel Seichepine Scholarship Fund, c/o Bob Moody, 173 Meadow Ridge Parkway, Dover, DE 19904.
