HARTLY - Jimmie A. Dawes of Hartly passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Milford Hospital. He was 66. Mr. Dawes was born May 21, 1948 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina to the late Thadie E. Dawes and Cladie Mae Bradshaw Dawes. He worked for Voshell Brothers Welding for 26 years. Mr. Dawes enjoyed all sports and had run track while in school. He is survived by his wife, Candy Comegys Dawes of Hartly; sons, Jimmie Dawes and his wife Sara of Stevensville, Md., Jason Dawes and his wife Carrie of Ridgley, Md.; daughter, Tamra Dawes of Frederica.; brother, Bruce Dawes and his wife Carol of Laurel Springs, N.C.; sisters, Ramona Jones of Rocky Mount, N.C., Theresa Dawes of Henderson, N.C.; grandchildren, Michael, Amber, Jenna, Jason, Ava, Melissa, Molly, Briann, Breanna, Alyssa and Krauss. Funeral services will be 4 p.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904 to help defray funeral costs. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
