Jesse McGinnis 'Joe', 62
HARTLY - Jesse McGinnis "Joe", died Monday, July 6, 2009, after a two-year battle with cancer. He was 62. The majority of his life was spent working on the Delaware Bay as a commercial crabber. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and especially doo-woop music and Celtic Woman. He will be sadly missed by his good friend, Dr. Malvin Gelof, and his wife Helen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary McGinnis; and his brother, Archie. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Barbara Moore McGinnis; his three daughters, Tammy McGinnis, Bobbie Jo Lily, and Kathleen Ruff; three step-sons, Bobby Jefferson and his wife Diane, and Lenny and Daniel Hayward; four brothers, Carroll and his wife Stella, Kennard and his wife Edith, Paul and his wife Pat, and William and his wife Margaret McFadden; and two sisters, Patricia Boone and Dorothy and her husband Gerald Foster. His family would like to thank his good friends, George Kohout, and Adam and Kelly Gelof for all of their support. Special thanks to the Helen Graham Cancer Center and Hospice Compassionate Care and Nurse, Joan Bartsch. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009 in Barratts Chapel Cemetery near Frederica. Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Inc., 29 S. Main St., Smyrna.
