Jeanne Iola Davis

LEWES - Jeanne Iola Davis, age 86, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Beebe Medical Center. Jeanne was born in West New York, N.J., daughter of the late Adam Mueller and Bertha (LeBlanc) Mueller. Jeanne was a registered nurse for 30 years and had worked many years with Wilmington Medical Center and the Visiting Nurses Association in Wilmington. Jeanne was instrumental in setting up hospice services in Sussex County and in the past had worked five years with Delaware Hospice. In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Mueller; and a sister, Phyllis "Micky" Mueller. She is survived by her husband, Douglas R. Davis, Sr.; three sons, Douglas R. Davis, Jr., and wife Sandy, of Calif., Jonathan Davis and wife Kendra, of Ky., and Tim Davis and wife Cindy, of North East, Md.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Sharon Vieson and husband Joe, also of Calif.; and a brother, Gerald Mueller and wife Denise, of Ore. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Wed., December 10, 2014 at Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes. Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
