BLADES - Jeanne Elizabeth Ewell Johnson, passed away on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in her home. She was 83. Born in Greenport, Long Island, N.Y., on May 24, 1925, the daughter of the late Edna May Truex and Edward Leroy Ewell. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Seaford Moose Lodge and the Ladies Auxiliary of Virgil Wilson VFW Post 4961. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd "Scappy" Johnson Jr; a son, Floyd "Marty" Johnson III; a daughter, Faith Ann Johnson Whaley; a granddaughter, Kelly Whaley Dunning; a brother, Eddie Ewell; and a sister, Isabel Griffith. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lee Johnson Adkins of Greenwood; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Sara Johnson, of Blades; her grandchildren, Laurie Adkins Bireley of Delmar, Md., Marty Johnson IV of Salisbury, Md.; Bethany Adkins Larmore of Laurel, and Michelle Johnson of Seaford; great-grandchildren, John "Trey" Dunning III, of Blades, Michael Bireley and Christopher Bireley, of Delmar, Md., Christopher Johnson and Emily Johnson, of W.V., Noah Waldrige, of Seaford, Kai Terry, of Seaford, Katelynn Johnson, of Salisbury, Md., Siene Terry, of Seaford, and John Dunning IV, of Seaford; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front & King Streets, Seaford, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.
