HARRINGTON - Jean McMullen of Harrington died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, in Harbor Health Care, Lewes. She was 89.
She was born in Chester, Pa., to the late Walter Leonard and Margaret Graden.
Mrs. McMullen worked as a waitress for the Bridle Bit for many years.
She was mainly a homemaker who took excellent care of her family.
Her favorite activities included singing and playing the piano.
Mrs. McMullen also loved to dance and attend the Harrington Senior Center.
She met her husband, Louder, in a Parents Without Partners meeting.
She will be remembered as a good wife and caring person who will be greatly missed.
In addition to the Harrington Senior Center, Mrs. McMullen attended the Asbury Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son Frank Plummer Jr.; daughter Audrey Sapp; and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Louder McMullen of Harrington; a step-daughter Bertha Wyatt of Harrington; a brother Walter Granden of Winder, Ga.; sisters Lois Hosteller of Milford, Mary Moffet of West Chester, Pa., Emma Dillon of Arizonia; grandchildren Frank Plummer, Allen Plummer, James Plummer, and T. Sam Plummer; and great-grandchildren Frank Plummer, Tera Minutello, Patricia Melandez, AJ Plummer, Amy Plummer, Kristen Bogan, Chad Benton, Jay Plummer, Todd Plummer, Michael Plummer and Ryan Plummer.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call one hour prior.
Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
