DOVER - Jean Marie Ringer, 80, of Dover passed away on December 20, 2014 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Ms. Ringer was born in Quincy, Mass. in 1934 to George and Thelma Adler. Throughout her life, she loved to help people. She worked as a Social Worker with the State of Delaware where she retired in 1996. She was also a volunteer at Families in Transition and served on the Board of Directors for The Shepherd Place. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafting, gardening, and collecting antiques. She loved being a grandmother and spent much time with her grandchildren. She also dearly loved spending time with her special aunties and cousins. Jean is survived by her three children, Robert H. Ringer and wife Annette of Scottsdale, Ariz., Ronald S. Ringer of Dover, and Steven D. Ringer of Ontario, Ore.; her brother, George Adler of Braintree, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Eric, Emma, Otto, Kate, Erica and Suzanne; former daughter-in-law, Rhonda; and her dear friend, Claire Murray. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
