DOVER - Jean Lee Turner, of Dover, died Friday Feb. 6, 2009, in Kent General Hospital. She was 64. Miss. Turner was born July 14, 1944, in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Marjorie Turner Griffith and the late Robert Lee Turner. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the State of Delaware Merit Employee Relations Board. Miss. Turner was a master crafter, she loved to design her own counted cross stitching and flower arrangements where she won several blue ribbons at the State Fair. She surrounded herself with the things she loved most, family photos, her kitty cat, "Milady", music, movies and the many "works of art" she created with her skilled hands. She was a great storyteller and she loved a good joke. Miss. Turner was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Ron Griffith. She is survived by her mother and step father, Marjorie and Don Griffith of Dover; her sister, Laura Barclay and her husband Peter of Laporte, Pa; and niece and nephews, Elizabeth, Todd, and Kyle Barclay. Memorial services will be held noon Wednesday at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook may be signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
