BRIDGEVILLE - Janice Lee Erb, "Nanny", age 63, of Bridgeville, died on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was born on March 26, 1947, in Baltimore City, Md., daughter of the late Louis Reed and the late Olive Ridgeway Reed. Her love for family was the center of Jan's life. She spent her life giving to those who surrounded her, and many who were in need found the motherly love that was Janice Erb. She also worked with and cared for the elderly at Caroline Nursing Home and Homestead Manor Nursing Home as a CRN for over 18 years. For those of us who were touched by her caring, understanding way she will live on forever. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, David Frederick Erb, Sr.; sons, John Phillips of Ocean City, Md., Larry Lee Bell, Jr. of Bridgeville, and Jamie Lynn Bell of Bridgeville; step sons, David Erb, Jr. of Readfield, Maine, Frederick Erb of Portland, Ore., and David C. Denton of Farmington; step daughter, Lillian Gray of Harrington; brothers, Louis J. Reed of Federalsburg, Md., and Robert Reed of Ellicott City, Md.; sisters, Margaret Catherine Munion of Wingate, Md., and Lois "Dee" DeRouche of Federalsburg, Md.; a lifetime friend Doris "Dot" Lyba of Hampstead, Md.; and the many to whom she was their Nanny. Memorial Services were 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, where friends called one hour prior to services.
