DOVER - Janet W. Barr, of Dover, died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Silver Lake Nursing Home. She was 90. Mrs. Barr was born Aug. 18, 1920, in Milford, to the late Roland Walls and Anna E. King Walls. She and her husband owned and operated the Barden Inc Plumbing and Heating of Dover and Rehoboth. Mrs. Barr was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church of Frederica and Modern Maturity Center, Dover. She enjoyed fishing, crabbing and going to the beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Barr, March 2, 2002; daughter, Geraldine Morris; sisters, Amelia Haddaway, Marjorie Quillen, Mary Ann Mykyta, Grace Muir; and brother, Roland Walls. She is survived by her sons, Bill M. Barr and his wife Debbie of Dover, Carl R. Barr, II and his wife Sandy of Rehoboth; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be noon, Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Cape Henlopen Memorial Park, Rt.1, Milton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 6 Front Street, Frederica, DE 19946. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
