DOVER - Janet Ridenour Hurtt died Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, in Bayhealth at Kent General Hospital, Dover.
Janet was born Jun. 11, 1940, in Alverton, Pa. to the late Joseph Hull and Mildred Davis Hull. She worked at Star Hill Elementary School for fifteen years in their Foster Grandparent Program. She attended Community of Christ Church in Wilmington and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hurtt is survived by; her sons, Dale Ridenour of Florida, Jeff Ridenour of Milford, Dennis Ridenour and his wife Doris of Felton, Mike Ridenour and his wife Sandra of Connellsville, Pa., and Mark Ridenour and his wife Cindi of Smyrna; her step children, James Hurtt and his wife Cheryl, Linda Hurtt and Christine Newman; eleven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, South, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd, Rt. 10, Dover where a visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
In honor of her loving dedication to the children of Star Hill Elementary, the family is asking that donations be made to the Star Hill P.T.O. in lieu of flowers. Star Hill P.T.O., 594 Voshells Mill/Star Hill Road, Dover, DE 19901.
