MILTON - Janet L. Hill, of Milton passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Sterling, Va. She was born in Milford, Del., the daughter of the late Elmer and Doris (Dickerson) Hastings. She worked for the Recorder of Deeds in Sussex County until her retirement in 2001 and later work at Rite-Aid in Seaford. She was a member of the Milton Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxilliary. She is survived by her children, Jon Hill, II and wife Trish of Richmond, Va. and Joy Parker and husband John of Sterling, Va.; six grandchildren, Brin Hill, Nicole Hill, Benjamin Parker, Clara Joy Parker, Quinton Campbell and Kathryn Binns; and two great grandchildren, Matthew Genier and Alex Genier. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 and Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery Milton. She loved her friends and family and community and would want you to be a part of her remembrance. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of your choice in Janet's memory.
