She attended and graduated from Ball State University with a BS in general science in 1952. She also took several masters-level courses at Purdue University (Indiana) and Ohio State University. She followed both of her parents' footsteps and taught high school math, science, and social studies in Michigan. While at Ohio State, Jane met and married the love of her life Philip Larkin on Sept. 7, 1958. She is survived by two children; son, David and wife Charlotte Larkin of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and daughter Mary and husband Eric Meier of Chestertown, Md.; a sister, Joan Gorden of Big Coppitt Key, Fla.; two step-grandchildren, Jacquelyn Fauver and husband Dan Fauver of Corinth, Texas, and Daniel Stauffer of The Colony, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three children, Thomas, John, and Philip, Jr. She truly enjoyed reading, knitting and crocheting, listening to opera and classical music, and watching British comedies and dramas on PBS. She was famous for her Christmas tradition of baking gingerbread cookies for Phil to deliver to friends and family. She was a member of the Alpha Omacron Pi Sorority, the Red Hatters Society, and was a long time and active member of First United Methodist Church in Chestertown and faithfully sang in the church choir for several decades. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., August 15, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church, Chestertown. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to: The Michael J.
