DOVER - Jane K. Adams passed away, Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Kent General Hospital. Mrs. Adams was born April 14, 1924 in Orange, N.J. to the late Frank Kirkner and Jessie Flemming Kirkner. Mrs. Adams worked as a Registered Nurse and had first worked at Morristown Memorial Hospital where she met her husband. She was a homemaker while her children were growing up but went back to college and earned her PH.D. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Woman's Club in Morris Plains, N.J., the Red Hats Society of Delaware and Dover Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling, reading and ice cream. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Adams, 2013. She is survived by her son, John Adams and his wife, Lisa, of Cranberry, N.J.; daughter, Pamela A. Dyson and her husband Gregg, of Annapolis, Md.; sisters, Kathleen Wien, of Alpharetta, Ga., Shirley Peterson, of Seattle, Wash.; grandchildren, Monica, Tom, Rebecca, Josiah, Leah and Claire. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, D.C., 96011. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
