Jane Davis Hudson

GEORGETOWN - Jane Davis Hudson passed away at Harrison Senior Living in Georgetown, on Monday April 16, 2012. She was 90. She was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Ira and Lillie (Short) Davis. Mrs. Hudson was a member of the New Century Club, the Wesley U.M. Church and sang in the choir. She played basketball in school and worked at the Georgetown High School in the library for 8 years, and was also a Girl Scout Leader. She also enjoyed being a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman K. Hudson in 1999; four brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Workman of Georgetown; her son, Philip Hudson and his wife Carol of St. George's; her grandchildren, Cindy Humphreys, Debbie Collins, Rodney Workman, Karen Workman, Scott Workman, Matt Hudson, and Kelly Hudson; seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will be 10 a.m., Friday April 20, 2012, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, and a graveside service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at Union Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Vitas Hospice, 1016 Walnut St., Milford, DE 19963; or Wesley United Methodist Church, 102 E. Laurel St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
