Jane Claire Weygandt, 75

VIOLA - Jane Claire Weygandt of Viola passed to Spirit Monday, July 9, 2007, at her home, in the loving presence of her family. She was 75.

Mrs. Weygandt was born Oct. 28, 1931, in Monogahela, Pa., daughter of the late John Williams and Beryl Yohe White.

Mrs. Weygandt moved to Wareham, Mass., with her family in 1955.

She was an accomplished carpenter, builder, mason and electrician, designing, building and remodeling homes. Grossman"s Lumberyard was her favorite store. She worked for a short time as a cafeteria aide, but spent most of her life as a homemaker and carpenter.

Mrs. Weygandt was a graduate of the Coast Guard Pilot Course and sailed her cabin cruiser for many years in the bays and seas of Massachusetts.

She enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing, canning, sewing, carpentry and horseback riding.

Mrs. Weygandt was a member of the First Spiritualist Church of Onset, Mass.

She is survived by her best friend and husband of 57 years, Ted Weygandt; two daughters, Patricia Jane Weygandt and Linda Susan Weygandt, both of Viola; a granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Thomas and her husband Christopher of Viola; a grandson, Brian Gifford and his wife Jessica of Ayden, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Bryn, Braeden, Keegan and Brogan, all of Viola, and Haley, Lindsey and Hannah, all of Ayden.

Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour before services. Burial will be private.

Memorial donations may be made to Summerwinds Stables, 148 Greystone Road, Hartly, DE 19953.
