DOVER - Jane Barcroft Zink passed away of COVID-19 Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at her residence at Westminster Village.
Jane was born May 4, 1934 in Richmond, Virginia, daughter of the late John and Mildred Barcroft.
Jane attended Memphis State University, majoring in accounting and starting her lifetime affiliation with Alpha Gamma Delta. She met and married the love of her life and best friend, Ron Zink, while he was serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Jane loved her career teaching pre-school and elementary school children where ever Ron's career in management positions within non-profit organizations took their family. These adventures took them from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, New Jersey, West Virginia, Ohio, Illinois and New York before retiring to Dover in 1998. She was a member of The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ as well as the Newcomers Club of Dover and a bridge group. Jane enjoyed reading, church gatherings, playing bridge, crafting, traveling, spending summer weeks at Chautauqua Institute with family and friends, but mostly spending time with her family.
Jane was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Ron.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Edward and Sallye Zink of Princeton, N.J.; her daughter and son-in-law, Rev. Nancy Ellen Zink and William Ahlers of Scranton, Pa.; her brother, John Barcroft of Fayetteville, Ark.; and her sister-in-law, Carol Eaton of Oklahoma City, Okla.
Due to COVID-19 no memorial service will be held at this time. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Chautauqua Association of the Disciples of Christ (CADC, PO Box 1019, Chautauqua, NY 14722).
Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
