Jane Asher McCraw Kent, born January 28, 1923, in Lynchburg, Virginia, died peacefully, February 13, 2022, at Westminster Village, Dover, Delaware.
Jane was the daughter of Samuel S. McCraw and Mary Louise (Lula) Phelps McCraw, and the widow of George Morris Kent, Jr.
She was a member of Peoples United Church of Christ and served there as a Sunday school teacher, Deaconess, and member of the Board of Christian Education. She organized a library at Peoples Church, in memory of her husband George.
Jane retired from Prentice-Hall Corporation System, Inc. after 30 years of service. She was also a member and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Modern Maturity Center for over 35 years and a long-term member of the National McCraw Family Association.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (Kathy) Kent Barker and her husband Steven Heath Barker of Battle Creek, Michigan; son, George M. Kent, III and his wife Donna K. Kent of Ocean View, Delaware. Also, she is survived by granddaughter, Tina L. Kent of Magnolia, Delaware; and great grandson, Zachary W.M. Kent of Magnolia, Delaware; along with many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be a livestreamed only on www.torbertfuneral.com, it can be found under the "Upcoming Livestreams" tab and viewed by clicking on her name. The event will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, February 24, 2022.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Peoples Church, 46 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904 or Modern Maturity Center, 1121 Forrest Avenue, Dover, DE 19904.
