DOVER - Jan Kelley-Jordan of Dover, quick witted, compassionate, tenacious and loving are words best used to describe Jan Kelley-Jordan. Jan died peacefully, surrounded by friends and family, on Mar. 25, 2014. Born Jan. 14, 1961 to Charlotte and Weldon Kelley of Centreville, Md. Jan was a graduate of Queen Anne's County High School and Wesley College with a degree in nursing. Throughout her career, as an ER nurse at Kent General Hospital, a school nurse at William Henry Middle School and Campus Community School, Jan was known for her ability to bring out the best in everyone she encountered. She cared deeply for not only their physical well-being but their emotional health as well. Her spirit lives on in her sons, Ryan Michael Jordan and Alexander Patrick Jordan, and all those who loved and shared their lives with her. Jan is also survived by her parents; her sister, Leigh Kelley McCarthy of Leesburg, Va.; and brother, Dean Perrone and his wife Gale of Boca Raton, Fla. Friends may join the family for a visitation at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 East Lebanon Road Dover, DE from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2014. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, State Street, Dover, DE on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 9 a.m. In lieu of flowers, and to help continue the lifelong commitment Jan had to the success of her sons, the family suggests contributions to the Jan Kelley-Jordan Memorial Fund, established for Ryan and Alexander Jordan, held at M&T Bank, 1001 East Lebanon Road, Dover, DE 19901 attn: Brad Benson, Branch Manager.
