
GREENWOOD - Jamie L. Closser Grillo passed away peacefully at her home in Greenwood after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018.
Jamie was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Closser of Greenwood.
She was a talented business woman, owner of The Amish Tradesman pole building company which she established ten years ago on her own and built into a successful business. Jamie also operated her alpaca farm, Morningstar Alpacas, in which she raised and showed championship alpacas. The farm was a popular stop for guests who enjoyed seeing the adorable alpacas and shopping at Jamie's farm store for alpaca products made from their incredibly soft fiber.
Jamie was a 1979 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School, but spent the majority of her school years in the Woodbridge School District where she attended until she moved to Rehoboth in her senior year. The majority of her lifelong friends are classmates she had known since 1st grade.
Jamie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Dorothy Closser, her sister, Cherie, who died in infancy, and her brother, John Franklin "Frankie" Closser, III.
She is survived by her son, Tyler Thoroughgood; her sisters, Tammy Kearney (Mike) of Seaford, Suzanne Sheffield (Bill) of Holly Springs, N.C., Kara Brasure (Keith) of Dagsboro; her niece, Brooke Dickerson (Troy) of Laurel and their children Greyson and Hailey; as well as several close cousins and loyal friends who loved and supported her during this difficult time.
Services will be held on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 at the Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 West Market St., Greenwood, DE 19950. Interment will be at St. Johnstown Cemetery, Rt. 16 & St. Johnstown Rd., Greenwood.
