
James Rogin, 92
James Rogin of Greenwood, formerly of Dover, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Country Rest Home, Greenwood.
Mr. Rogin was born February 27, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Sam Rogin and Norma Fieldman Rogin.
He served in the United States Air Force for 3.5 years. Mr. Rogin was an Elementary School teacher as well as a wrestling coach in Roslyn, New York. He was active in Delaware Democrat Politics and the Children's Theater. Mr. Rogin enjoyed family, poetry, writing, acting and sports. He was also a published author.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Janet Black Rogin, and his 2nd wife, Marina Roach Rogin, and her two sons, Dirk Knipe and Joseph Scott Knipe.
He is survived by his sons, James K. Rogin and his wife, Debbie, of E. Northport, NY and John T. Rogin and his wife, Laura, of Middletown, DE; daughter, Kathy A. Melvin and her husband, Barry, of Smyrna, DE; grandchildren, Kristin Rogin-Peters and her husband, William Peters, their children, William, VI, Trevellyan James, and Hendrick; James K. Rogan, Jr. and his wife, Julianna, and their children, James K., III and Emily Grace; Patrick Rogin and his wife, Vanessa, and their children, Patrick, Jr., Montgomery and Fiona May; Alexandra Rogin and her husband, Brian Travers; Lindsey Alexitch and her husband, Chris and their child, Meisha; John Williams and his son, Ryan Williams; Marina's children and grandchildren, Sherry Pisacano and Dawn Knipe; her grandchildren, Dan Reddy, Angelique Knipe-Claessen, Aaron Knipe, Jason Knipe, Alec Knipe, and Trisha Butler; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m., Friday, March 31, 2023, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (RT.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
