James Reddick Jr., 72

James Reddick Jr. of Smyrna died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007, in Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. He was 72.

Mr. Reddick was born July 14, 1934, in Norfolk, Va., son of the late James Sr. and Ethel Porter Reddick.

He served in the U.S. Army and after the service he was in civil service as parts cleaner at Dover Air Force Base.

Mr. Reddick enjoyed cooking for his friends and family and traveling throughout the United States. He loved to follow all kinds of sports, especially Delaware State University football. He also enjoyed being with family and friends for holidays and family gatherings.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Wilbert Reddick in 1979.

He is survived by his wife, Elissa (Walker) Reddick of Palmetto, Fla.; three daughters, Lavonna Reddick and Laquisha Reddick both of Palmetto and Betty Perrin of Ohio; and six grandsons.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Patriots Way, Millsboro.
