CLAYTON - James "Jimbo" R. Baker III, of Clayton, beloved husband of Christine Rose Baker, died peacefully on July 30, 2010, in Smyrna. He was 62. Mr. Baker was born in Chester, Pa., on Nov. 9, 1947. He served in the USMC and was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Purple Heart among others. James enjoyed being with his many friends, especially fellow Marines, and riding his Harley. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothea Sutter Baker; his father, James R. Baker, Jr.; and his sister, Jean Goodwin. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Johnson of Seaford, and Dawn Sturgeon of Clayton; and a son, Larry Hall of Townsend. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9 to 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 S. Main Street, Smyrna. Burial will be 11 a.m., in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Bear. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
