CORDOVA, Md. - James Percy Daffin, of Cordova, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009. at his home. He was 88. Born in Talbot County, on April 9, 1920, Mr. Daffin was the son of the late James V. Daffin and Sarah Alma Tribbitt Daffin. He graduated from Caroline High School and then served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. during World War II in China and Burma for three years. He retired from the University Of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center in Kennett Square, Pa. He additionally spent numerous years in the agriculture, electrical, and steel industries. Mr. Daffin is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth Joan Voshell Daffin of Cordova; four children, James V. Daffin and his wife, Betty of Hebron, Timothy Daffin and his wife Holly of Easton, Jeri Collins and her husband Randy of Ft. Meyers, Fla., and Beverly Dolby of Easton; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, George Daffin and Carlton Daffin; and one sister, Virginia Thume. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 South Second Street, Denton, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Drive, Easton, MD 21601.
