DENTON, Md. - James O. Plumley of Denton died Friday, Dec. 22, 2006, in Memorial Hospital in Easton. He was 86.
Mr. Plumley was born in Prospect, N.Y. He lived in Denton since 1996 when he moved from Marydel, Del.
He and his wife were participants in the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program (MAPP) for 10 years. They traveled throughout the United States helping various Christian groups with building programs.
Mr. Plumley was a member of the Army Air Corps and served in the European Theatre during World War II. In February 1956, he went to Dover Air Force Base as a mechanic and welder, retiring May 1982.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred C. Plumley on Feb. 3, 2006.
He is survived by three sons, James O. Plumley of Camden, Del., Alan H. Plumley of Clarksville and Ralph P. Plumley of Wilmington, Del.; a daughter, Kathryn Parsons of Yorktown, Va.; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, in Templeville Community Church, 3703 Barclay Road, Templeville.
Burial will be private.
