CLAYTON - James O. Leager, III, "Jimmy" of Clayton passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Kent General Hospital in Dover. Mr. Leager was born Dec. 9, 1952 in Dover, De, the son of the late James O. Leager, Jr. and Marie C. Leager of Smyrna. Jimmy worked for DelDot for many years as a Machine Operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on the farm. He was an avid outdoors man who just enjoyed being outside. Jimmy was a very helpful and fun loving person who would help anyone. He was fond of his grandson and enjoyed his time with his family. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Jaime Gilbert and her husband Woody, of Smyrna; his grandson, Zachary; his siblings, Mike Leager, of Clayton, and Jeff Leager and his wife, Teri, of Smyrna, and Cindy Daniels, of Dover; his uncle, Bill Cassell and his wife, Nancy, of Smyrna; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. A viewing will held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Smyrna. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
