FEDERALSBURG, Md. - James N. Marine of Federalsburg passed away Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Hospice House, Denton. He was 93.

Born in Williamsburg on Dec. 18, 1913, he was the son of the late Archie and Katie (Collins) Marine.

Mr. Marine attended the Hurlock High School and joined the U.S. Army Air Force on March 2, 1942, where he served as a machine gunner on a B-24 in World War II.

He was honorably discharged on Sept. 14, 1945, from the 2124th AAF Base Unit where he had obtained the rank of staff sergeant.

Mr. Marine retired from Maryland Plastics in Federalsburg as foreman of the Injection Molding Department after 30 years of service.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5246, Federalsburg.

Mr. Marine is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Gladys Collins, whom he married Oct. 30, 1943, of Federalsburg.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family and burial will be at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Williamson Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Federalsburg.
