CAMDEN - James J. Piazza of Camden passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007, in Silverlake Nursing Center, Dover. He was 87.
Mr. Piazza was born on Nov. 12, 1919, in Trenton, N.J., son of the late Salvatore and Rose (Vicari) Piazza.
He was the eldest of three children, a brother, Charles and sister, Katherine. He married Lorraine Lanzi.
Mr. Piazza served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Rehoboth in World War II. After the war he was employed by the Fleetwing Co. in aircraft construction. He later assumed ownership of a men's clothing store from his brother, Charles in Trenton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his ex-wife and friend, Lorraine; and a sister, Katherine.
He is survived by a daughter, Janice Gallagher of Camden; a son, Dennis Piazza of Atlanta, Ga.; a granddaughter, Jillian Findlay of Charleston, S.C.; a great-grandson, Preston Findlay; and a brother, Charles Piazza of Egg Harbor, N.J.
Friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday in Trader Funeral Home, Dover.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Friday in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dover.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce Dr., Suite 302, Newark, DE 19713.
