MILFORD - James H. McIlvain Jr. of Milford, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011, in Bayhealth at Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford. He was 89. James was born in Milton, son of the late James H. and Sara (Legates) McIlvain. He was the Produce manager at A&P in Milford for 33 years. James enjoyed hunting and fishing with his cousin, Lester Tingle and also enjoyed traveling. He was a member of Calvary U.M. Church in Milford. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Katherine Morris McIlvain; children, Barbara Grodkiewicz and husband Leo of Frederica, Joan Webb and her husband Terry of Milford, Judy Fister and her husband John of Milford, 6 grandchildren, Shelley Gravatt and her husband Roger, Steven Grodkiewicz and his wife Ginger, Tim Short, Todd Webb, Jes Fister and his wife Peggy, Jana Fister and her companion Lamar Demby; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Logan Gravatt, Tyler Leyanna, Taylor Fister and Mia Demby; one great-great-granddaughter, Khloe Leyanna; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held Saturday, April 9, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Calvary U.M. Church, 301 S.E. Front St., Milford, where friends called after 12 noon. Interment was in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
