James Frank "PeeWee" Weiland, 80
FEDERALSBURG, Md. - James Frank "PeeWee" Weiland of Federalsburg passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, in his home with his loving wife by his side. He was 80.
Born in Federalsburg on Aug. 19, 1927, he was the son of the late J. Lewis and Mary Emma Motz Weiland.
Mr. Weiland was a graduate of the Federalsburg High School, class of 1944, and worked for the former Caroline Poultry of Federalsburg for 27 years before becoming a tax and permit agent for many of the area truckers.
He was a member of Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. 1622 in Easton and of the Blackwater Honga Game Dinner, for which he actively participated for many years.
He was an avid fisherman and loved fishing and hunting over the marshes of Dorchester County. He also loved spending time with his wife in Ocean City.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jay Frank Weiland, who passed away July 20, 1995.
Mr. Weiland is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Rose Arcaro, whom he married on March 24, 1956; one brother, Lamar Weiland and his wife, Gladys of Salisbury; and by one granddaughter, Rachel Jane Maxey of Trappe.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Williamson Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Federalsburg, where friends may call one hour prior.
The Rev. Danese Collins of Union United Methodist Church, Federalsburg will officiate.
Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Federalsburg.
