MEBANE, N.C. - James F. Warren Sr. of Mebane departed this life Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, in Washington D.C. Hospital Center. He was 62.
Mr. Warren was born Nov. 29, 1944, son of the late James E. and Lucy V. Warren.
He was a 1962 graduate of Central High School, Graham.
After graduation, Mr. Warren joined the U.S. Air Force and served for 25 years.
He was the president of the Delaware Retirees Club of Dover, manager of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Chestertown, Md., and a senior member of the Cooties.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin Warren and Edward Warren.
He is survived by two sons, James F. Warren Jr. and his wife Shailine of Waldorf, Md., and Gerald A. Warren and his wife Shalonda of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; a daughter, Sharon Torres and her husband Paul of Sacramento, Calif.; six grandchildren, Cristina, William and Yvette Torres of Sacramento, Kiersten and Kara Warren of Pembroke Pines and Paula Warren of Waldorf; two sisters, Sarah Mitchell and her husband Randy of Mebane, and Flossie Bracey and her husband George of Burlington; a brother, Jiles Warren and his wife Mary of Burlington; an aunt, May Tate of Mebane; three dear friends who were very close to him, Donnie A. Garnes and Mike and Angie Goodhand; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church, 110 S. Lane St., Mebane, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. John Davis will officiate.
