TOWNSEND - James Edward "Jimmy" Waecker Jr. of Townsend passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in Christiana Hospital in Newark, with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 44.
Mr. Waecker was born on Jan. 4, 1963, in Dover, son of Phyllis (Emerson) and James Edward Waecker Sr.
He attended Middletown High School, where he graduated in 1981.
Mr. Waecker worked in the Middletown area his entire life.
He was employed by Atlantic Tractor in Cecilton, Md., until his illness.
Along with work, Mr. Waecker enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, NASCAR and lending a helping hand to his friends on their farms.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Emma (Stutzman) Waecker; two children, Anna Waecker and Travis Waecker; his maternal grandmother, Anna Emerson; two sisters-in-law, Inez Thompson and Kyle Bramble and her husband, Tom; a brother-in-law, George Stutzman and his wife, Linda; as well as a host of many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers who will cherish the many memories they shared with Jimmy.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Townsend Cemetery, Townsend.
Instead of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the college trust fund for Anna and Travis Waecker, c/o PNC Bank, 460 W. Main St., Middletown, DE 19709.
