James E. Maloy

DOVER - James E. Maloy, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016. He was the son of the late James E. Maloy and Mary Helen Hannifin of Le Roy, New York. Upon graduation from high school, Jim served in the U.S.A.F. for five years. Prior to his retirement in 1988 after 37 years of employment, he was a Benefits Services Supervisor for General Foods. Jim later served on the State of Delaware Personnel Commission and was the Site Director for Webster University's Master of Arts degree program, an Adjunct Professor for Southern Illinois University, and a Benefits Consultant for General Foods. Preceded in death by his wife of forty-two years, Kathleen; he is survived by his six children; Margaret M. Thomas (John), Coleen E. Thacker (Barton), James E. Maloy Jr., Bridget A. Wilson (Mark), Julie A. Klapp (Bruce), and Charles Michael Maloy (Albert); six grandchildren; and his sister Madonna Lee of Le Roy, New York and her four daughters, their spouses and children. Madonna's husband, Floyd "Tiny" Lee, and their son preceded him in death. His companion Colleen Makin also survives him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Cross, 631 South State Street, Dover, DE. Visitation will take place at the Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Home, 1175 South State Street, Dover, DE on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In Lieu of floral gifts, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The ichael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
