James E. "Jim" Evans, 48
LINCOLN - James E. "Jim" Evans passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, September 9, 2022, after a long battle with cancer.
Jim was born on December 2, 1973, to Edgar Y. and Patricia M. (Herring) Evans in Mt. Holly, NJ.
For over 20 years, Jim worked as a welder for Burlington County, NJ. He moved to Lincoln 12 years ago. He enjoyed quarter-mile racing, and was an avid collector of cars. He was a faithful member of New Life Baptist Church in Milford, and throughout his illness, his hope and faith in the Lord never wavered. He was known as the type of man to give you the clothes off his back, and always sought to be giving and helpful.
In addition to his parents, Jim will be sorely missed by his daughter, Nadia Ford; his brothers, Thomas Evans (Faith), Edgar Evans, and Milton Evans; his grandchildren, Braden and Earl Jr.; his friends, who were like family, Mike and Ingrid Chaney; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at noon at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St. Milford, DE 19963. A time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 10. Entombment will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park in Milton.
