CAMDEN - James Daniel Fahey, Jr. was born in Taunton, Massachusetts in 1934 to Myrtle Eileen Cash Fahey and James D. Fahey. He graduated from Coyle Cassidy Catholic School in 1957. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1983 as Physiology Training Unit staff throughout his career. He retired in 1983 as Chief Master Sergeant, Superintendent of PTU at Mather AFB, California. Jim was stationed at Otis AFB, Massachusetts; Long Island, New York; and Williams AFB, Arizona before his retirement. He also participated in special U2 projects in Turkey 1958-1960. Jim married Rebecca Gibbs in 1981. They have a blended family of three children, Tara Fahey Brown (Jerry) of West Sacramento, California; Derek Scott Fahey of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania; and Brea Fahey (Timothy Pezanko) of New York, New York. Jim's extended family includes sisters, Sandra Fahey Goldberg (Mark) and Mary Fahey Goldberg (Les), of Santa Ana, California and their children and grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by siblings, Susan Fahey Drake, Carol Fahey; and brother, Paul Fahey. USAFR TSgt Patrick Drake (Janelle Joyal), son of the late Susan Fahey Drake, of Casco, Maine also survives Jim. Jim received his Bachelors Degree from Golden Gate University and his Masters from the University of San Francisco. Following his USAF retirement, Jim worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation, Field Engineering & Services Department, Hunt Valley, Maryland and Northrop Grumman Corporation, Baltimore, Maryland and Memphis, Tennessee. He retired in 2000 and moved with Becky to Camden, Delaware in 2006. He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan and in recent years enjoyed traveling to their spring training. He was a member of the Taunton Elks, Delaware Disabled American Veterans, and Air Force Sergeants Association. He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery, with full military honors.
