James C. Lofland Jr.

MILTON - James C. "Jimmy" Lofland Jr., of Milton, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center, in Milford. He was 69. James was born in Milford, son of the late James C. Sr., and Alberta (Dorman) Lofland. Jimmy was owner and operator of Lofland's Garage, in downtown Milton, for over 30 years and was a school bus contractor for Cape Henlopen School District. He enjoyed Stock Car racing and had driven a Dwarf Car several years ago. Jimmy was a Navy Veteran. He is survived by a daughter, Sandy Lofland Payne; and grandson, Joe Payne, both of Tampa, Fla. A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 6, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, where friends may call Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
