GOLDSBORO, Md. - James Arthur 'Jimmy' Starkey, died at his home Friday, June 22, 2012. James was born January 30, 1951 at Easton Memorial Hospital, son of the late James Norman Starkey and the late Alice Mae Collins. Growing up in Templeville he loved to hunt and fish. After graduating from North Caroline High School in 1969, he went to work as a group leader for Playtex in Dover, Del. He retired from Playtex in 2002 and returned to work in 2003 for Caroline County Public Schools. He was a custodian at Greensboro Elementary School and later Ridgely Elementary before his retirement in 2011. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two uncles, Melvin Burris and William Burris. James is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy; son, Donald and his fiancée Tammy; son, Brian Starkey; step-father, Donald Collins; two aunts, Doris Burris and Christine Burris; uncle, Donald Starkey and his wife, Betty; special friend, Mary Jane Sapp; three sister-in-laws; four brothers-in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at the Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greeensboro, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
