OCEAN VIEW - James A. Mitchell passed away Tues., Aug. 13, 2013 at home surrounded by his family. Mr. Mitchell was born April 8, 1935 in Greensboro, Md. to the late Clifford Mitchell and Grace Sard Mitchell. He started work at Playtex at the age of 17 and retired after 41 years in 1994. Mr. Mitchell enjoyed traveling, country music, fishing, boating, hunting, and loved the beach. He was a member of the East Sussex Moose Lodge #2542. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, James Mitchell, Jr. of Greensboro, Md.; sisters, Nancy Williams of Ridgely, Md. and Mary Kathryn Semans of Wye Mills, Md. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Owens Mitchell of Ocean View; sons, Gary Mitchell of Greensboro, Md., Dean Mitchell and his fiancé Melinda Sinegar of Felton, Del., Gene Mitchell of Ocean View; daughters, LuAnn Kish of Ridgely, Md., Gennine Cooper and her husband Rob of Marydel, Del.; daughter in law, Debora Schuyler Mitchell of Greensboro, Md.; brother, Lewis Mitchell of Harrington, Del.; sisters, Rose Ebling of Ridgely, Md., Ruth Bowman of Easton, Md.; grandchildren, Jordan, Briana, Wesley, Hunter, Josh, Kelly, Ryan, Brandon, Joshua, Jeremy, Megan, Korey and Codey; and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Sat., Aug. 17, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Dover. Flowers are welcome or contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
