
Jacqueline Lee Honey McGuckin
Jacqueline Lee Honey McGuckin, transitioned away peacefully Friday, May 3rd, 2024, at home with "her boys" by her side.
Jackie was born September 12, 1940, in Wilmington, DE to Robert (Red) and Dorothy (Dot) (Eby) Honey.
Upon her father's retirement as a Wilmington Police Detective in 1959 the family moved to Miami. There she met her husband Walter R. McGuckin who was stationed at Homestead AFB. During their years of marriage, they were assigned to numerous stateside bases to include Japan, Turkey and Holland. Upon Walter's retirement they moved to Rehoboth Beach, DE and later to Dover, DE.
Jackie was very artistic and enjoyed crafting, painting, sewing, needlepoint and mending blue jeans for her "boys". Giving her wonderful creations to her family was what she cherished the most. Whenever there was a special occasion in "your life", you would always receive a personal handwritten note from her. She also loved doing puzzles, cryptograms and card games.
She was a prideful military spouse, devoted Wife, loving Mother, doting Grandmother and grateful Great Grandmother. Jackie was a past Worthy Grand Matron and lifetime member of the Victory Chapter #15 Order of the Eastern Star, and member of Harrington Senior Center.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, USAF RET T/SGT Walter R. McGuckin; her parents, Robert and Dorothy Honey; as well as her brother, David Honey.
She leaves to forever cherish her memory, her brother, Robert (Diane) Honey; four sons, Jody (Candace) McGuckin, Matthew (Cathi) McGuckin, Mark McGuckin, Jason (Cherelyn) McGuckin; seven grandchildren, Jacob (Rachel) McGuckin, Elise (Duck) Noel, Caleb (Melissa) McGuckin, Tyler McGuckin, Melissa Anderson, Chris (Heather) Shepherd, Crystal (Jeff) Nagyiski; 11 great-grandchildren, Corrie, Kingston, Luca, Colton, Addy, Emmy, Andrew, Jade, Abby, Evan, Avery.
Services will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966, Friday, May 10th at 11 AM, with a sharing of memories gathering to follow (appx 1:00PM) at the Masonic Lodge, 1478 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover, DE 19904.
