Jack Wozniak, 68
HOUSTON - Jack Wozniak, of Houston, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008, after a short illness. He was 68.
Jack was born in Wilmington, to the late John A. and Alice (O'Connor) Wozniak.
He graduated from Salesianum High School, Wilmington and then graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education.
Jack worked as a physical education teacher for the Lake Forest School District for 17 years before retiring in 2005.
During his tenure, he was the assistant coach of the Lake Forest High School football team as well as the head coach of the W.T. Chipman basketball team.
He also was involved in the Jump Rope for Heart at South Elementary, a program that received several accolades and awards while he was in charge.
Jack enjoyed his Dept. 56 collection, enjoyed working in his yard, doing handyman work and especially spending time with his family and his dog Hanna.
Jack is survived by his wife of 33 years, Mary (Rinaldi) Wozniak; a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Jeffrey Freedman of Lutherville, Md.; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and James Pohl of San Antonio; a brother and sister-in-law, William and Carmen Wozniak of Woodbridge, Va.; and a well as his faithful dog Hanna.
Friends may call from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday in the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce St., Harrington.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford-Harrington Highway, Harrington.
