WILMINGTON - Jack David Wardwell Sr. of Wilmington, formerly of Magnolia, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, in the Regency Healthcare and Rehab Center. He was 55.

He was born March 16, 1952, in Topeka, Kan., son of the late Mary (Lawson) and Bruce Wardwell Jr.

Before his stroke and disability, Jack worked for Dover Plumbing and Supply as a driver and for Wyoming Concrete in precast as a concrete truck driver.

He was a past member of the Dover Lions Club.

Jack enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and working on cars.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary F. Cunningham; and a brother, Bruce F. Wardwell III.

He is survived by four children, Susan Conley and her husband Steven of Dover, David Wardwell Jr. of Magnolia, Mary Beck and her husband Timothy of Dover and Donna Wardwell of Felton; his ex-wife and mother of his children, Sue Ann Wardwell; four brothers, Wayne Thompson of Pottstown, Pa., Ralph Thomason of Morristown, Tenn., Delbert Wardwell and his wife Connie of Morristown and Chris Wardwell of Morristown; a sister, Teresa Nelson of Gadsden, Ala.; and an extended family of nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.
