DOVER - J. Fern Leake, of York, Pa. formerly of Dover, Del., died at Manor Care Health Services-Kingston Court in York on July 31, 2013. Born March 8, 1918 in Laramie, Wyo., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Violet (Peters) Thomas. She worked in retail and retired from the former Braunsteins of Dover, Del. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Smelser; and a granddaughter, Pamela Alger. Fern is survived by two daughters, Dixie L. Kutz of Downingtown, Pa. and Lana J. Mason of Red Lion, Pa.; a son, Ricky G. Palmer of St. Petersburg, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; and a brother, Gary Thomas of San Antonio, Texas. Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tues., Aug. 6, 2013 at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St. York, PA with Chaplain Wesley Mast of Heartland Hospice officiating.
