J. David Vaughn, 77

SALISBURY, Md. - J. David Vaughn, of Salisbury, died Monday, June 23, 2008, in the Wicomico Nursing Home, Salisbury. He was 77.

Born in Wewoka, Okla., he was the son of the late John E. Vaughn and Virginia E. Sebastian Vaughn.

Mr. Vaughn lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, until he moved to Dover, Del., where he was an English professor at Wesley College from 1968 until his retirement in 1988.

He spent his remaining years in Salisbury.

Mr. Vaughn was an enthusiastic gardener, bird watcher and antique lover.

His wry humor and sharp wit were beloved by all his friends. He maintained his humor until the very end.

He is survived by a niece, Victoria Vaughn of Los Angeles, and her son, Skye.

Instead of flowers, contributions may be made to Wicomico Nursing Home, Activities Fund, Salisbury, MD 21802; or the charity of your choice.

Arrangements by Bounds Funeral Home, Salisbury.
