Iva Mae Banning

MILFORD - Iva Mae Banning, of Milford, passed away on Oct. 21, 2010. She was 92. She was born Oct. 18, 1918, to the late Harry and Mary Moore. She was a bookkeeper for Taylor's Hardware in Harrington for many years. She was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge, Ladies of Moose where she held several offices throughout the years. Mrs. Banning liked to do cross word puzzles and enjoyed reading a lot. She loved to spoil her grandson as well as her great-grandsons. Over the past several months during Mrs. Banning's illness, Erika enjoyed taking care of her great grandmother-in-law. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Chandler and her husband Paul of Harrington; grandson, Donald L. Porter Jr. and his wife Erika of Harrington; and great-grandsons, Timothy, Tyler, and Nathan Porter of Harrington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Hildray O. Banning. Graveside services were 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 25, 2010, at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. Donations can be made to the: Freedom Worship Center Academy, 21875 Shockley Road, Milford, DE, in lieu of flowers. Arrangements are by the Melvin Funeral Home, Harrington.
