ROCK HALL, Md. - Irene Marie Schwartz of Rock Hall died of natural causes Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, in her home. She was 91.
Mrs. Schwartz was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Sandusky, Ohio, daughter of the late Leo and Theresa Strickfaden.
She was a graduate of Sandusky High School and in 1939 married Homer H. Schwartz.
Mrs. Schwartz led a full life and traveled the world in connection with her husband"s occupation. They lived in England, Venezuela, South Africa, Brazil, Turkey, Iran and throughout the United States. She came to Rock Hall in 2001, where she was often seen walking her beloved dog, Penny.
In addition to her parents her was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Henry Schwartz in 1979; and sisters, Eunice and Helen.
She is survived by her children, Larry J. Schwartz of Rock Hall, Patricia Blair of Chandler, Ariz., Homer H. Schwartz II of Tucson, Ariz. and Robert L. Schwartz of Dallas; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be 2 p.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Chestertown.
Burial will be in Glen Rose, Texas.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Humane Society of Kent County, P.O. Box 352, Chestertown, MD 21620.
