Irene Marie Hudson

GEORGETOWN - Irene Marie Hudson, of Georgetown, passed away on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010. She was 77. Mrs. Hudson was born of Jan. 2, 1933, to the late Johnsie and Nina Baker Carmean. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Virgil Hudson in 2000; and three brothers, Preston, Leon and Dennis Carmean. Mrs. Hudson attended Grace United Methodist Church in Georgetown. She was a legal secretary for the Dean Betts law office for 20 years. She was an avid bowler, sports fan, and member of the Twinkle Club. She was active in the Jaycee's with her husband. Mrs. Hudson loved puzzles, reading, plants and flowers. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She is survived by four children, Rita Jackson of Lewes, Kim Hudson and his wife Tammy of Millsboro, Lisa Briggs and her husband Lewis Briggs, II, of Georgetown, and Kara Stoeckel and her husband Kevin of Georgetown; ten grandchildren, Brittany Jackson, Evan Jackson, Jessica Hudson, Jeni Hudson, Jill Guerrazzi, Michelle Simpson, Lewis Briggs, III, Michael Briggs, and Jeremy and Brooke Stoeckel; nine great-grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. A Funeral Service was 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street, where friends called one hour prior. Friends also called on Friday, Dec. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Mike McGee officiated. Interment followed at Millsboro Cemetery, Millsboro. Letters of condolence may be emailed via www.watsonfh.com.
