Ilona L. Steele, 78

FELTON - Ilona L. Steele, passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, in Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 78. She was born on Sept. 13, 1930 in Koethen, Germany, daughter of the late Miller and Martha (Lindau) Lehmann. Ilona was a homemaker. Her hobbies included fishing, race horses, going to the slots and the beach, swimming and cleaning house. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Steele; a son, Thomas Steele; and a grandson, Arthur Thomas Ware III. She is survived by a son, Carl Steele, of Felton; a daughter, Ilona E. Looney, of Felton; sisters in Germany; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A viewing will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
