FREDERICA - Ida May Wootten of Frederica died of heart failure Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 69.

Mrs. Wootten was born July 3, 1937, in Harrington, daughter of the late Harvey and Elizabeth (Ross) Hathaway.

She was a housewife.

Mrs. Wootten had been a member of Harrington Senior Center for three years.

She enjoyed arts and crafts, knitting, collecting dolls and spending time at the senior center.

Mrs. Wootten loved to spend time with family and friends and quickly became a friend to everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nelly Minton and Lena Messick; and a brother, Albert Hathaway.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Wootten; a daughter, Christine Busa; two sons, Douglas W. Layfield and Vincent D. Messick; nine grandchildren, Billy, Jessica, Dennis, Matthew, Ashley, Danielle, Douglas Jr., Heather and Nichole; and three great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Jordan and Jada.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Graveside services will be noon Thursday in Barratt"s Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.

Immediately following burial will be a gathering in remembrance and fellowship at Christine"s home.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Make A Wish Foundation, 3411 Silverside Road, Welden Building, Suite 104, Wilmington, DE 19810.
