I. Jane Garner, 89
LAUREL - I. Jane Garner of Laurel, formerly of Hecla Park, Pa., passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, in Nanticoke Hospital, Seaford. She was 89.
Mrs. Garner was born Nov. 27, 1916, in Walker Township, Pa., daughter of the late William L. and Iantha E. (Dietrich) Clevenstine.
She was a 1936 graduate of Hublersburg High School.
Mrs. Garner was employed as a loan officer at Wilmington Trust in Laurel, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of the New York Chapter of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Garner was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married Aug. 28, 1938, in State College, Pa., William H. Garner, on Aug. 16, 2001; four brothers, W. Fred Clevenstine, Harold Clevenstine, Malcolm Clevenstine and Emory Clevenstine; and a sister, Henrietta Shreckengast.
She is survived by a daughter and a son-in-law, Iantha J. and Richard Steiman of Lewes; a son, William H. Garner Jr. of Laurel; a grandson and a granddaughter-in-law, Marc A. and Barbara Steiman of Lewes; and a great-grandson, Nathaniel Garner Steiman of Lewes.
Services were Tuesday in Wetzler Funeral Service Inc., 206 N. Spring St., Bellefonte, Pa. The Rev. Douglas Elder officiated.
Burial was in Centre County Memorial Park, College Township.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Building D, Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601; or to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, 801 Middleford Road, Seaford, DE 19973
